So I live in a (tiny) room in Brooklyn in a brownstone that was renovated from top to bottom, and I have to say I like it quite a bit. There isn’t too much that I can do to the room as far as painting and changes, but with all my personal stuff in the room, I think it looks pretty cozy.
I have an exposed brick wall, which I absolutely love. I think it brings so much warmth to a space, in such a simple way.
The rest of the walls are a really warm creamy color with a lot of yellow hues to it. I am lucky enough to have two large windows in my room, with a small patch of wall between them that I have made into a mini-collage zone:
I have a whole mish-mash of stuff on the wall that reminds me of my loved ones and the good memories we share. I love love love the old-timey photo strips that I get every summer at the beach. The one in the center is me and my friends from a few years back, and the one on the right is me and my boyfriend, G. In the top-left, you can see a photo of my bestie, Courtney, who has her own very amazing and inspiring blog that everyone should check out.
Just a few little bits to put a smile on my face.
Below, I have a small bookshelf that my wonderful friend Julie gave me when I moved here on my own and needed storage options. On it, I have a lamp made from an old glass wine bottle that I found at a thrift store with a shade from IKEA (the shade that came with the lamp was hideous). Next to it, I have quite possibly the most efficient jewelry stand EVER. It holds all of my earrings and rings in easy-to-locate tiers and spins for easy access to everything. I got it as a gift almost 5 years ago when I first moved to NY for school, and I still love it.
Sorry for the poor image quality…I took these photos at night so all the colors look a little bland, but I promise my room is much more lively in person!
